It's been an interesting journey along the winding 'road' which has been the #SaveCareers Campaign.
As readers of my blog and followers of the Twitter stream will know, it has been an interesting 'road' - highs and lows for sure, but what has become unquestionable is the committment of so many great careers advisers out there who care so much about their profession, even if their profession is someway behind in its support of them.
I never started this campaign with the intention of creating yet another 'talking shop' for the careers space at a time of the incredulous Government strategy which prevails. There are, in my opinion, enough of these groups already.
Those who know me, know that I am a 'Do-er'; I have spent the last 10 years creating resources and tools for young people that have become the bedrock of careers resources for the UK. This has been achieved through the committment and quality of my team.
Here is the problem for me; to continue to provide a place for committed careers professionals to share advice, information and resources was NOT my original intention, more something that organically developed, particularly on Twitter.
I feel a need to get back to what I believe I do and the team do best - and that's making change, not talking about it.
So, with heavy heart but rejuvenated soul, I must take a back seat position from here on in with this campaign. I am lucky enough to be able to make a change in this space with my team, and this will continue to be our focus as a group of committed individuals.
